The Wakefield Women’s Club (WWC) was founded in 2001 as a non-profit social organization for women whose members are drawn from the Wakefield Plantation community as well as neighborhoods in North Raleigh, Wake Forest, and surrounding areas. WWC is open to all women, and is a wonderful way to meet people, whether you have been here your entire life or have only just arrived. We are a diverse group of women of all ages and a wide variety of interests.
WWC meets monthly, September through May for lunch at TPC at Wakefield Plantation. Our lunch programs feature local speakers who cover a wide variety of topics. Our members enjoy a plethora of activities and special events, including Bunco, Canasta, Hand & Foot, Couples Dinner Group, Mah Jongg, Book Club, International Lunch Bunch, our Fall Fashion Show, the Holiday Gala, our Spring Social…and so much more. And we’re always on the lookout for new ideas for new activities. Members may sign up for as many activities as they choose. Club members are involved in coordinating all of our events and activities, which helps to make our club successful and fun.
Even though WWC is not a service club, we support many community organizations, such as Interact Women’s Shelter of Raleigh. The shelter serves as a haven for women of domestic abuse. We also support the Tri-Ministry Food Pantry in Wake Forest and the Triangle affiliate of Dress for Success, which promotes economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire.
Please explore our website and feel free to call or email with questions. Make a reservation and join us at a luncheon. If you’re looking to make new friends and enjoy good company, you’ve come to the right place! We look forward to meeting you soon!
